Join us for the 2023 C.M. Newton Classic, presented by TriGreen Equipment, on Saturday, December 30 in Birmingham! This year’s neutral site game will feature the Alabama vs. Liberty in the third annual C.M. Newton Classic. The game will take place at Legacy Arena at the BJCC.
The C.M. Newton Classic game honors former Alabama men’s basketball head coach C.M. Newton. Newton was not only known for his coaching accolades but the impact he made on and off the court. Newton stood for courage and was the first coach to put forth an all-Black starting five and recruit players like Wendell Hudson.
Ticket will go on sale later this fall. Fans who purchase a ticket to the 2023 match up will receive access to an exclusive pre-sale to the 2024 C.M. Newton Classic. Join the email list to be the first to know when tickets go on sale!
2023 C.M. Newton Classic Legacy Builder Application
The Legacy Builder campaign focuses on highlighting nonprofits in the Birmingham area who are building a legacy focused on diversity and inclusion initiatives, just as C.M. Newton did. Anyone can nominate a Birmingham-area nonprofit for their work in diversity and inclusion as a part of the Legacy Builder campaign. Legacy Credit Union will announce the four organizations selected as Legacy Builders during the 2023 C.M. Newton Classic game. The Legacy Builder organizations will receive a $2,500 donation as well a professional produced video spot that will be shared during the C.M. Newton Classic.
