Fraud is continuously on the rise and you must be vigilant in preventing scammers from gaining access to your personal account information. We are aware that scammers are spoofing our number: 205-930-5000 and claiming to be Legacy employees from the fraud department. We will NEVER contact our members asking for card numbers or card details. Do NOT share SSN, DOB, account or card details with anyone over the phone. The best thing to do is hang up and use credentialed contact information to reach us and report the fraud before it happens.

What to do if you are a victim of spoofing and have provided sensitive information to a scammer:

• Contact the credit union immediately – 205-930-5000
• If card details were disclosed —> block/close the card immediately
• If card details AND account details were disclosed —> follow recommended procedures to close the account and open a new one
• If ALL sensitive information was disclosed (SSN, DOB, Cards, Accounts) —> Follow steps above and also contact credit bureaus to place a freeze on your credit.
