April is National Credit Union Youth Month and this year’s theme is: Unleash the Power of Saving at Your Credit Union. This time of year allows credit unions to teach and encourage kids to develop strong financial habits. “Youth Month presents an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of the credit union movement with younger members. It plants the seeds of financial well-being at an early age” said Megan Crowson, Manager of Consumer Engagement for CUNA.

In addition to education, Legacy is helping its members by giving a little incentive when opening a Youth Savings Account. During the month of April, open a Youth Savings Account with $5 and Legacy will match your $5 deposit (only valid for new accounts). Any individual who opens an account during the month of April 2023 will be entered into the Youth Month $100 Giveaway where one winner will receive $100 deposited directly into their Youth Savings Account.

Are you already a member with a Youth Savings Account? Any existing Youth Savings Account can be entered into the Youth Month $100 Giveaway by depositing $5 or more into their Youth Savings Account during the month of April. See below for promotion and contest rules.

Rules for $100 Youth Month Giveaway:

1. Contest begins on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 12:01 AM CST. Contest ends on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 11:59 PM CST.
2. Any new Youth Savings Account opened with the required $5 initial deposit for any child (age: birth-18) during the month of April 2023, Legacy will match your $5 deposit. Existing Legacy members not eligible for $5 match.
3. All new Youth Savings Account opened between April 1-30 will be entered into the $100 additional deposit Youth Month Drawing.
4. Any existing Youth Savings Account can be entered into the Youth Month $100 Giveaway by depositing $5 or more into their Youth Savings Account between April 1-30, 2023.
5. $5 match will be deposited into eligible accounts on Monday, May 1.
6. Youth Month $100 Giveaway winner will be selected and notified on Monday, May 1, 2023.
