Best Companies to Work for in Alabama

On Monday, December 4th, Legacy Credit Union was recognized as one of the Best Companies to Work for in Alabama. This program is in its thirteenth year and was created by Business Alabama magazine along with the Best Companies Group. This is the second year Legacy has received the honor.

Companies from across the state enter into a two-part survey process to determine the rankings of the Best Companies to Work for in Alabama. The first part consists of evaluating each company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics and counts for 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience and counts for the remaining 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determine the top companies and the final rankings. The awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in Alabama who benefit the economy, workforce, and business.

From Left to Right: Carl Smith (SVP of Lending), Summer Carter (SVP of Member Engagement), Emmett Colston (AVP of Branch Administration), Rebekah Thebo (Director of Recruitment), S. Glenn Bryan (President and CEO), Jenna Floore (AVP of Human Resources), JoLyn Berry (AVP of Centralized Lending), and Leia Ragland (AVP of Marketing and Business Development) attended the 2023 Best Companies of Alabama luncheon on behalf of Legacy Credit Union.

“Legacy has an outstanding culture – one that places value on our people” said Jenna Floore, AVP of Human Resources. She went on to say “nearly every employee who completed the survey spoke about the importance that Legacy places on employees, and how employees are treated with respect in the workplace.” When asked how this award will help with the recruitment of future employees Floore said, “this award shows potential applicants that choosing to build a career at Legacy is a wonderful decision and a worthwhile commitment.”

When asked her thoughts on the award, Summer Carter SVP of Member Experience, echoed Floore’s comments. Carter said that the credit union is “dedicated to providing a positive work environment where our employees can thrive.” However, she believes that because of the award, our members will benefit the most. “When employees feel valued and supported, it is reflected in the quality of their work” she said. “Which ultimately benefits our members.”
