This spring, Legacy Credit Union wrapped up its 2025 Tax Refund Promotion – a campaign that offered one lucky member the chance to win $2,025. The promotion encouraged members to take advantage of tax season by having their $200+ federal or state tax refund direct deposited into a Legacy Checking Account. At the close of the promotional period, we randomly selected a winner from eligible entries, and we’re thrilled to introduce our 2025 Tax Refund Promotion winner: Amanda R.

Amanda has been a member of Legacy Credit Union since 2014. “My family have been members of credit unions since I was a kid, and when I moved to Birmingham in 2014, it just made sense,” she shared. For over 11 years, Amanda has found value in Legacy’s commitment to community and local service. “Being a member of Legacy means my money stays in the community. I like to keep things local.”

When asked what she would say to friends or family considering making the switch to Legacy, Amanda explained, “I’ve got a few friends that bank with the larger banks around town, and when I shared my good news, they were surprised that a ‘bank’ would give money away. I always encourage people to switch to credit unions when I can.”
