Direct Deposit Your Tax Refund and You Could Win $2,025

When it comes to getting your tax refund, we know you want it in your account as soon as possible. When you choose to have your tax refund direct deposit into your Legacy account, you can receive it up to 2 days earlier! On top of getting your money sooner, you can also enter for a chance to win our $2,025 promotion.

 

How do you know if you’re eligible?

In order to be eligible for an automatic entry, you need to have a Legacy checking account. Then, receive a qualifying tax refund direct deposit (described in official rules below) of $200 or more to your Legacy account between January 29th and May 1st. See official rules for information on entry periods.

 

How does it work?

All you have to do is receive your qualifying tax refund of $200+ via direct deposit into your Legacy checking account by May 1st, and boom, you’re entered for a chance to win!

 

How can I receive my tax refund with Legacy?

Here’s how to set up a direct deposit in 3 easy steps:

  1. Find our routing number (262086561) and your MICR (account) number for your checking account.
  2. When you file a tax return, choose “Direct Deposit” as the tax refund method and include the routing number and MICR (account) number.
  3. There is no step 3. It’s that easy!

 

Official Rules

  1. Any member (age 18 and over) who receives a qualifying tax refund direct deposit of $200 or more to your Legacy Everyday or Engage Checking account between 1/29/2025 12:00am CST and 5/1/2025 11:59pm CST will be eligible for an automatic entry.
  2. At the end of the entry period, Legacy will randomly select one (1) potential winner from all eligible automatic entries received during the entry period. The drawing will take place on 5/5/2025. After the drawing has concluded, Legacy will send an email message from [email protected] to the winner between 12:00 PM Monday May 5, 2025 and 12:00 PM Friday, May 9, 2025 (“Winner Notification”). No reply is required from the winner.
  3. One (1) winner will receive: one (1) one-time deposit of $2,025 to their Legacy Checking account that received the qualifying tax refund.
  4. Legacy employees and their immediate families (parent, child, sibling, or spouse) or persons living in the same household are not eligible. 
  5. The qualifying tax refund direct deposit must be either (1) made by the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) directly to the Legacy member’s new or existing checking account; or (2) made by the state governmental agency responsible for providing state tax refunds (specifically the state in which the entrant filed their tax return) into the Legacy member’s new or existing checking account; The first tax refund direct deposit of $200.00 or more to your Legacy checking account during the entry period qualifies as your one (1) automatic entry during the entire promotion period. 
    1. Direct deposits from the Legacy member’s employer, payroll provider, or benefits payer in the form of an Automated Clearing House (ACH) direct deposit do not qualify for Automatic Entry. Likewise, bank ACH transfers, Pay Anyone transfers, verification or trial deposits from financial institutions, peer to peer transfers from services such as PayPay, Cash App, or Venmo, mobile check deposits, and cash loads or deposits do not qualify for an Automatic Entry. A tax refund direct deposit posting before the beginning or after the promotion period is not a qualifying tax refund direct deposit. 
  6. Legacy Credit Union reserves all rights to determine whether or not a tax refund is “qualifying” or not.
